RUNNING OF THE BULLS
A street event and party based on the running of the bulls festival in Pamplona, Spain. Three hundred participants wore traditional white and met at a bridge in Brooklyn. They were chased for six blocks by 75 homemade puppet bulls, bike bulls, art car bulls, costumed bulls, and cart bulls. A party celebrating all things Spain, thrown by people who had obviously never been there, capped the run. The party featured an opera singer, flamenco dancers who couldn't dance, matador bull fights, and a boxing match pitting old Hemingway against young Hemingway. (Young Hemingway won.)
