A street event, started in Manhattan, foiled by police, and reprised on Roosevelt Island. Following a dense, complicated plot, hundreds of cultists deciphered maps printed on paper airplanes and looked for distant semaphores guiding them to a solitary lighthouse. More confusion added by pirate radio broadcasts, Red Cross nurses, and crates of cardboard cellphones. In the end, sea chanteys turned into a virgin sacrifice, the Rude Mechanical Orchestra smacked their drums, John Frum came, and the cargo plane floated away.
