THE FEAST OF SAINT MADAGASCAR
Madagascar hijacked a small art parade with its own larger, louder procession, led by bishops carrying a mock saint mounted atop a giglio platform. Hundreds of people blocked streets on the Lower East Side when police responded. After a short chase, the police turned the other way and the bishops lit the platform, which exploded with fireworks and burst into flames. With the Hungry March Band.
